PDF files will not open online and only will download to my PC

Reported by jfox1...@gmail.com, Mar 29 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. go to a website with a PDF link
2. click on the PDF link
3. download begins immediately, link will not open nor will it give me the option to open, view or download

What is the expected behavior?
open the link and make my own choice

What went wrong?
I do not know, it was working correctly up until around first of March 2017 ... it has to Chrome because it works correctly in Internet Explorer

Did this work before? Yes not known

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 25.0 r0

YES .. this is extremely annoying to me and I wish you would do a bug fix immediately if not sooner

If you go to chrome://settings/content and scroll all the way to the bottom, is the checkbox for "Open PDF files in the default PDF viewr application" checked or not?

it IS checked ..... I UNchecked, closed the browser; reopened browser and checked "open PDF files in the default PDF viewer application", closed the browser; reopened the browser & problem is still the same

I have a slightly different problem with Chrome v. 59.0.3067.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) on macOS where if you click a link with pdf, it won't open it in the Chrome PDF Viewer.

Thanks!

Looks like this got fixed in Version 59.0.3071.0 (Canary, 64-bit, macOS Sierra 10.12.5 Beta 2), I think it should all be good...
Could anyone confirm this?

Thanks!
Sid.
