Project Member Reported by gwendal@chromium.org, Mar 29 2017

Issue description

Kernel hangs at boot: coreboot and kernel output enclosed. (I enclosed 2 runs)

Kernel used (1a4135886603a84bf4fc58e92299dd48a4713cc9 + unrelated FS upstreams)

Ha, I just tested this yesterday and noticed the same. I wasn't able to bisect anything quickly, so I gave up.

Veyron *did* work initially when we brought up 4.4, but I think we quickly broke the display driver along the way with Kevin development. But last I knew (prior to yesterday) it wasn't crashing and burning like that...
I believe something is wrong with the regulators:

 thermal thermal_zone1: critical temperature reached(125 C),shutting down

I compared with a 3.14 kernel, I don't see the GPIO settings, and mali is not initliazed properly (maybe because we shutdown due to thermal).

Alex was helping bisect some other veyron issues. He sounded like he might tackle this too. Assigning for now, but feel free to unassign.

The following revision refers to this bug:
  https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/third_party/kernel/+/218289ba24f3be627983ced1701eb08251bab224

commit 218289ba24f3be627983ced1701eb08251bab224
Author: Caesar Wang <wxt@rock-chips.com>
Date: Tue Apr 04 02:09:26 2017

UPSTREAM: thermal: rockchip: fixes the conversion table

As Ayaka reported the thermal was abormal on rk3288 at booting time.
thermal thermal_zone1: critical temperature reached(125 C),shutting down
thermal thermal_zone2: critical temperature reached(125 C),shutting down
thermal thermal_zone1: critical temperature reached(125 C),shutting down
thermal thermal_zone2: critical temperature reached(125 C),shutting down
...
The root caused by reading the invald analogic value, the value is zero
will convert the 125 degree to trigger the critical temperature.
Fixes it with insteading of the incorrect reading now.

Fixes commit cadf29dc2a8bcaae83
("thermal: rockchip: optimize the conversion table")

 commit db8318865e2c04dbe3d95089c7215b94a5b879b7)

BUG=chromium:706500
TEST=Veyron now boots a little further than 4 seconds (EC won't say S5 anymore)
Warning: Veyron might still have a broken edp in this branch
driver stalling boot.
