Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Example URL: http://www.gtalbot.org/BrowserBugsSection/CSS3WritingModes/s73-overflowed-vrl-content-in-htb-002.xht Steps to reproduce the problem: Load self-explanatory reduced test Scroll the box toward the left What is the expected behavior? A 90° rotated-text green sentence should be reachable and viewable. What went wrong? No green sentence is viewable. Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 59.0.3047.0 Channel: dev OS Version: Flash Version: irrelevant Firefox 52.0.1 passes this test. I have not checked with IE11 or with MS-Edge 15. I intent to eventually submit this test to the CSS Writing Modes test suite, along with a 'vertical-lr' variation of this test.

Another symptom that clearly suggests that the overflowed 90° rotated-text green content should be reached, reachable and rendered is the fact that the mouse cursor changes from a white arrow to an horizontal I-beam (looking similar to this: |--| ) when hovering over the overflowed area. Bug triager sureshkumari: this would be useful in this bug report if you could catch this (cursor changing from white arrow to horizontal I-beam) in a screen-cast .

I may have been confused when reporting this issue: I get expected results when I use Chrome 59.0.3047.0. But there is definitely an issue with the test when I use Chrome 57.0.2987.110: then I get actual results. Bug triager: Can you please close this issue as WontFix ?

Hello, [deep breath] I was definitely confused. I just checked my own test again with the latest Chrome in dev channel and it fails the test. So, here, it will really be necessary to have someone confirm this Iusse. Now, I took a screenshot along with the navigator.userAgent string so that I really can not be wrong or mistaken here or dreaming. Attached file is 138051 bytes (134Kilo-bytes), 1041px wide by 759px tall and it displays the screenshot Chrome 59.0.3053.3 (upper part) versus Firefox 52.0.1 buildID=20170317212642. |
