Accessibility issues on login screen |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 58.0.3029.18 OS: Chrome What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go to the login screen (2) Enable ChromeVox (3) Press Search + Right to navigate linearly through the various items Issues: 1) ChromeVox is now accessing and reading the image file names. These files have lengthy irrelevant names that often contain lots of numbers, which should not be read aloud. I think we should probably either add empty alt text here so that nothing is read for the image itself, or make sure that a proper image description is read (e.g. dog avatar), etc. 2) On one of my accounts on the login screen, I notice that there's a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it indicating that I need to re-sig into that account, or that my info is out of date. That icon has no label though, so ChromeVox can't access it. We need to make sure that is accessible to the screenreader to convey that information in audio spoken feedback. Albert, who is a good owner for login screen UI?

alemate@ has been looking at accessibility issues on the login screen recently. How disruptive is this issue for accessibility users? Leaving M-60, P2 for now. If this is seriously disruptive, feel free to change the priority accordingly. I'd rather still leave this for M-60 since this isn't a regression.

Ping. The exclamation triangle needs to have a label. And probably needs a proper accessibility review. It also doesn't work with left-handed mouse (https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=766699).

lpalmaro@, please suggest an accessibility label for the exclamation triangle. (The text is the user name, but its meaning is not very clear to be used as a label.) |
