What is the expected behavior? Hello, there's an error with my New Tab page. What went wrong? Hello, an error is on the New Tab page. Rather than the default URL (https://www.google.com/_/chrome/newtab?espv=2&ie=UTF-8) I get the following URL (chrome-search://local-ntp/local-ntp.html). How I fi it? Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 57.0.2987.98 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 25.0 r0

Thanks for reporting! What you're seeing is the "local NTP". That can happen when a) the regular NTP isn't reachable for some reason, or b) you have chosen a search engine different from Google, and the other search engine doesn't provide its own NTP. Can you check in chrome://settings under "Search", what search engine is selected?

Can you try uninstalling that extension? It's possible that it somehow interferes with loading the remote NTP.

Closing as not reproducible - best guess is that some extension was interfering with NTP loading. Anyway it'll become obsolete once the local NTP launches fully, in M65 or M66. |
