Cached DNS Results not cleared when changing DNS server

Reported by coolo...@gmail.com, Mar 21 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3045.0 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Use one DNS server
2. Connect to an address
3. Change to another DNS server which has different records for the address
4. Attempt to connect to the same address again.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
The DNS record of the address is not cleared, resulting in a site being unaccessible until the ttl or the user restarts the browser. OS cache is not affected.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 59.0.3045.0 Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.12.4

Can you provide a net-internals log which shows the issue, using the instructions at https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/for-testers/providing-network-details? The DNS tab of net-internals wasn't updated for issue 691078 , which would explain what I see in the screenshot, and I just filed issue 703821 for that, but I can't tell yet whether the site being inaccessible is related to that CL.

If you also have Chrome stable channel installed, can you also check whether the same issue happens on that version?

Thanks!

I don't have stable installed so I cannot try that, but have attached a net internals log, hope you didnt need the connection to stop trying though, I ended it after waiting a little while for loading.

Thanks for the log. Unfortunately it's still hard for me to confirm what's going wrong because the log only starts after the network change. Can you get another one, this time first starting the log, then making a request to google.com, *then* changing the network, then making another request?

And just to make sure, have you tried this in another browser and gotten different behavior?
