EarlGrey: Need a way to simulate bad network / Airplane mode |
|||||
Issue descriptionTo test reading list loading with EarlGrey, it would help to be able to set device (or fake) in airplane mode. Is there a way to do it?

It is still needed, yes. Any workaround would change the path and not test the exact functionality. We wrote some tests for Reading list, but we cannot be sure the behavior is exactly WAI in poor network.

Hey Lindsay, do you know a better owner for this? I would suspect that we could test this using a custom http server, but that would need to be explicitly written into the test. I think this bug is more about running entire test suites with poor connectivity/airplane mode.

We just need a helper to access the control panel and put the phone into airplane mode and take it out of that after the test is done. This will be feasible in EG2. |
