Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.110 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Print using browser dialog (ctrl-p) 2. "Save" button (or Enter key) What is the expected behavior? Expected the file destination dialog to show "Places", which has "Search" and more importantly "Recently Used", followed by a section with home. Desktop and volumes, followed by the user's customized places. What went wrong? Missing"Recently Used" (critical). Missing network account volumes. Missing "Search". Gratuitous items The dialog is totally different than before. Problems in priority order are: 1. The "Recent Files" should be the very first thing in the entire list, and it is missing! (This makes Chrome unusable to me and I have switched back to the stable channel.) 2. There are (standard) items that are gratuitous taking up vertical space (e.g. "Music"); these did not appear before. 3. I don't mind having the volumes under a disclosure widget at the bottom, but the network accounts are totally missing. 4. Look and feel (fonts/sizes) is much less compact. Did this work before? Yes prior to when I updated on 2017-3-19 Chrome version: 59.0.3043.0 Channel: dev OS Version: 4.9.14-200.fc25.x86_64 #1 Flash Version: This forced me to switch back to the stable channel, because I am constantly Printing pages from the browser.

This is working as intended. Chromium uses GTK for the save/print dialogs. We're in the process of upgrading to Gtk3 from Gtk2, so if you feel there is a bug, you should report it to the GTK folks. Also FWIW, I see "Recent" on the left instead of "Recent Files"

No, there is no "Recent" on the list on my system. I don't believe you're looking at the same thing that I am. Are you really sure this is a GTK2/GTK3 change? Without looking at the code, I suspect that the dialog is being called differently than it was before. I think there are parameters that the application supplies that control what options are present, and that that's what changed. In Chrome.

Pretty sure, the dialog is exactly the same on firefox and Chrome w/Gtk3 for me. Could you attach some screenshots?

The problem was reported in 59.0.3043.0 I have to wonder at the assertion that the change was intentional, and that there was no real issue. Because the problem is resolved today in: Chrome Version 59.0.3047.0 dev (64-bit) The features of the file chooser are back to normal in the latest build. |
