takes 30 seconds before login box appears

this started about 3 weeks ago after no problem for 11 months. No other problems exist after logging in. Google said its a hardware problem although several people in forum think its related to 56 OS. Dell said after i ran diagnostics via CROSH that its a bad hd (maybe they meant SSD which i have). Following is from CROSH: buffer overflow detected. Badblocks terminated
