3. If you go into Settings - About it will check for updates and install 57 but we need this to run automatically

What is the expected behavior?
Automatically update without having to go into Settings - About.

What went wrong?
Steps to reproduce the problem:
we have installed 56.0.2924.87 using the googlechromestandaloneenterprise.msi file. Also using group policies, we enabled auto-updating. It didn't update when a newer version was released, so I went to the "about" screen, and then it did update to 57 but Chrome doesn't seem to update to it automatically.

Here's some info:

- I see 2 scheduled tasks: GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore and GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA. Both are being executed regularly.

- we have tested this on 5 machines in the business and also contacted a source from a different company and they are experiencing the same issue (but they dont use Group Policy)but they have 56.0.2924.87 which hasnt updated automatically.

- The group policy settings we have setup, are:
     Google/Google Update/Applications/Allow Installation default: enabled
Google/Google Update/Applications/Update policy override default: enabled
Google/Google Update/Preferences/Auto-update check period override: 60 minutes between checks

- I created a file C:\GoogleUpdate.ini to enable logging (see attachment for a log-file).

Hi. Everything appears to be working as expected here. When we release a new stable version, we ship it gradually to auto-updating clients for various reasons. During this "gradual push" phase, chrome://help will generally force a manual update to the new version. This explains why you're able to manually update your machines yet running the scheduled task does not cause them to update.

If you wish for your fleet to update to the new version all at once, you could push the new MSI to them -- there is no need to uninstall the old version first, just apply the new.

Otherwise, be patient and you will find that your machines will eventually update. If you find that they are not updating in a week or so, please check back and we'll investigate further.

Cheers.
Hi, thanks very much for the reply. We will continue to monitor.
thanks again

Hi, we have been monitoring our machines over the past week and none have automatically updated. Can you please confirm everything is still working as it should? thanks

Yes. We have yet to push Chrome 57 out to larger audiences, so this is expected. Apologies if this is causing you some confusion.
ok thank you for the update. Any idea when this is likely to be?
