Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Any site Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. reach any website 2. open the settings menu 3. Try to find any "codepage" menu 4. Open the dropdown menu by right click on the web page 5. Try to find any "codepage" menu What is the expected behavior? The lot of sites and web apps needs possibility to change the codepage. What went wrong? Its no codepage menu Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? Yes Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: n/a OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Many users of the internal web apps of enterprise needs the possibility to change the codepage in this app. They dont have enough IT experience for installing any extension.

This was intentionally removed. There is an extension you can install to support this if you like.

Could you list up some of the sites that Chrome doesn't not choose the right encoding for? I'll look into them to see if there's any room for improvement on encoding detection.

Sorry, I cant list those sites. This is an internal portal, and problems are in the restricted access area (vpn,password). I will try to found the solve of this problem by another way. Thanks. |
