Rechecked the issue on chrome version 57.0.2987.98 on Windows 10 and Windows 7. Followed the below steps: Scenario - 1: ============= 1) Install chrome, navigated to "chrome://settings/?search=start" 2) Selected "Option - Open new tab page" and opened multiple webpages in adjacent tabs. 3) Closed chrome using browser "X" button. 4) Relaunched chrome - New tab page was displayed. Scenario - 2: ============= 1) Install chrome, navigated to "chrome://settings/?search=start" 2) Selected "Option - Open a specific page or set of pages" and Set pages as"www.google.com", wwww.yahoo.com" 3) Opened multiple webpages in adjacent tabs and closed chrome using browser "X" button. 4) Relaunched chrome - Chrome launched with "www.google.com" & "www.yahoo.com" in 2 different tabs. Scenario - 3: ============= 1) Install chrome, navigated to "chrome://settings/?search=start" 2) Selected "Option - Continue where you left off" and opened multiple webpages(yahoo.com, google.com, hulu.com, netflix.com) in adjacent tabs. 3) Closed chrome using browser "X" button. 4) Relaunched chrome - All the web pages (yahoo.com, google.com, hulu.com, netflix.com) were relaunched. Unable to reproduce the issue in all the three scenario, request user to try a system restart, relaunch chrome and try again. Thanks.!

User on forum suggested that restarting Chrome fixes the issue. Reducing priority of this one but keeping it open to see if this issue spikes with rollout

I've been seeing this behavior too in recent Beta releases; not sure if it started with Chrome 58, or existed in 57. Currently I'm on 58.0.3029.33 (Official Build) beta (64-bit), on Windows 10. Issue 700952 reports the bug is also happening in Chrome 59 Canary channel. My startup setting is "Open the New Tab Page". However, whenever I open a non-Incognito window, it restores the previous non-Incognito tabs I had.

Given the lack of activity in this bug, comment#2 and the fact that I can't repro, I am closing this for now. |
