elm: "Videostream" plugin won't install (but doesn't claim incompatibility) |
||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 57.0.2987.75 beta Chrome OS Version: 9202.37.0 beta-channel Chrome OS Platform: elm Steps To Reproduce: (1) https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/videostream-for-google-ch/cnciopoikihiagdjbjpnocolokfelagl (2) Click "Add To Chrome" (3) Expected Result: Web App installs. Actual Result: Web App won't install. A popup shows: "An error has occurred". "Download interrupted". A mole shows: "The server could not find the file. From clients2.google.com". How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to reproduce?) Always. I have now seen this in three elm feedback reports: 12/7: https://feedback.corp.google.com/#/Report/18525589337 2/25: https://feedback.corp.google.com/#/Report/53946050744 3/9: https://feedback.corp.google.com/#/Report/54704281455 Note: The same link works on a Linux x86 Desktop (56.0.2924.87 & 57.0.2987.98), and on an x86 chromebook. On both, the App installs and starts without crashing Chrome. What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is it? Cannot install this App. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screen shot or log if possible. For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu page at the end of this report.

@#1 - what other devices did you try? Can someone please try this on kevin when they get a chance.

I just tried the steps on my kevin (9202.53.0). I got the same error.

One last note is that I tried going to the site on my "peach pit" device. There it has a big red "Not Compatible" warning, saying: This application is not supported on this computer, installation has been disabled. The following problems are detected: * This is a native app incompatible with your CPU architecture. So presumably the problem here is that on kevin and elm we're not properly detecting this incompatibility properly.
