Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36 Platform: x86-generic Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Build current trunk source of Chromium OS: BOARD:x86-generic 2. cros flash usb and boot on LOOX M/D15 3. boot , show splash , show first dialog then suddenly power down. What is the expected behavior? not power down. What went wrong? I can not use it because it suddenly turns off. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 59.0.3038.0 Channel: canary OS Version: R56-9360.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 Sorry, I'm Japanese and poor at English. At first, I found this issue at R56. So I checked out the latest code and tried it. then it got the same result. I did git bisect, and found wrong commit bellow: commit aa1d248e2f0145d57c1ae06f8145c7846c4ac7c6 Author: Mattias Nissler <mnissler@chromium.org> Date: Fri Oct 21 15:44:13 2016 +0200 init: Report boot mode metrics This adds UMA histograms for boot mode, including (1) firmware write protect switch status, (2) dev switch status, (3) main firmware write protect status, (4) EC firmware write protect status and (5) PD firmware write protect status. BUG= chromium:658207 TEST=Ran on a device and observed samples in chrome://histograms CQ-DEPEND=CL:402059 Change-Id: I750435f6598588aa077eff63e20f78c6f342ad6a Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/400739 Commit-Ready: Mattias Nissler <mnissler@chromium.org> Tested-by: Mattias Nissler <mnissler@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Mattias Nissler <mnissler@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Randall Spangler <rspangler@chromium.org> diff --git a/init/send-boot-mode.conf b/init/send-boot-mode.conf new file mode 100644 (snip) So, I remove send-boot-mode.conf from USB Stick and retried, then it worked. I do not know why problems will arise if this file is present. The same problem is occurring in NEC PC-BL300TA6B. Both CPUs are Atom N280 and the chipset is 945GSE. Please try x86-generic with Atom N280.
