i think leaving the context inside of a subpage is a P3 enhancement

By design, searching on the "search within settings" searchbox always forwards to the main page and triggers a search there. So this seems a WAI instead of a P3 enhancement, unless we are willing to rework how searching works at a more large scale (which I hope we don't). On the other hand, we could add a different search box to search the search engines, similarly to the ones we have for cookies and passwords. I think that would be more feasible.

Closing this as WontFix. The "Manage search engines" page has its own dedicated search box for in-page searching. |
