Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Load extension from the attached file in google chrome on os x. 2. Click on the extension's icon several times. You might need to click like 1-50 times to reproduce a bug (try regular click combined with double clicks). What is the expected behavior? The popup should always open at full size, no matter how many times the extension's icon was clicked. What went wrong? Sometimes browser extension's popup don't open at full size (take a look at the provided screenshot). Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.11.6 Flash Version: On the extension I am developing, this bug is reproduced much more often, but it has a lot of extra scripts, so it might be more difficult for you to localize the bug with that sources. So, I created a barebone extension where the bug is reproducable. I also noticed, that if you remove "background" key from manifest.json, the bug isn't reproduced anymore.

It seems there is a bug in submit form. Looks like file attachments are erased when captcha appears. Anyway, files (a basic extension with reproducable bug and screenshot with the bug) are re-attached.

I updated Chrome to 57.0.2987.98 and the bug is still reproducable on OSX. Here is the recorded video: https://youtu.be/2JfOMOZ708M The bug is reproducable not only on my machine, but on my coworker's Macbook also. Let me know if you need any other details.

It seems you didn't take enough tries to reproduce the problem. I googled one more time and found the the exact issue in bugtracker: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=307912 Last comment was made 10 days ago with confirmation that the bug is still reproducable on OS X.

Unable to reproduce the issue in MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), 10.12.3 using chrome reported version #56.0.2924.87 and latest canary #59.0.3043.0. Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue. ------------ 1. Loaded extension from the attached file(as in comment #5) in google chrome on mac 10.12.3. 2. Clicked on the extension's icon several times. Clicked more than 50 times by combing regular clicks with double clicks. 3. Observed that the popup always opened at full size as expected. Note: It seems this issue is specific to mac OS Version: 10.11.6. Hence, marking TE-NeedsTriageFromMTV for further investigation. Thanks...!!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, it's difficult sometimes to reproduce this heisenbug (because of race conditions going on somewhere I think). But it's definitely reproducable with the barebone extension attached in comment#5. It's not OS X 10.11.6 only issue. As mentioned in adjacent issue (https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=307912#c42), the bug is reproducable on OS X 10.12.3 also. Maybe it'd be easier for you to reproduce the bug on a real extension from google extension store? Please try this extension for example: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clickclean/ghgabhipcejejjmhhchfonmamedcbeod Attached is screenshot with the reproduced bug on my machine.
