Adjust "leaving incognito" dialog text |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionPer srahim (UX writer) it's worth amending the leaving incognito dialog: Today: Warning Leaving incognito mode if this link is opened in an external application. Continue? [Cancel] [OK] Proposed: Open app? This site is trying to open an application outside of Incognito. [Cancel] [Open app] Related bug: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=346302#c20 emilyschechter@ - are you the best PM for this? We'd need to run it through Security/Privacy teams for a terminology OK and then send to UI Review. Just want to confirm if your team owns this dialog and then I could do the shepherding for reviews. Would mgiuca@ be the best person to OK the string change? (Or better just to focus on Privacy?)

The "if" in the previous string sounded like the link may or may not be opened in an external app; while in fact, I think it's just supposed to mean "if you press the OK button...". In that case, the new string is much clearer. One detail is that I think "leaving incognito mode" was a bit better at conveying "you're no longer incognito, your activity can be persisted" than "outside of Incognito", which might be interpreted as "well, sure, the app is outside of Chrome". But this is perhaps a nitpick so I'll defer to srahim@. Otherwise no privacy concerns.

Oh, what... this awful text is still there? I thought I fixed this last year but apparently it got bogged down in discussion about whether the dialog was needed at all. Duping. |
