Don flow is triggered when it is supposed to go straight to binocular view

Repro steps:
1. Go to https://webvr.info/samples/03-vr-presentation.html and place phone in daydream headset. follow DON flow to enter binocular view.
2. Remove phone from headset, hit x to exit binocular view, then immediately place back in headset.

Expected: Don flow is skipped and binocular mode is immediately started.

Actual: Don flow is triggered (tells you to put the device in headset then requires syncing of remote).

My understanding is that recentering w/ the remote is required every time.

Status: WontFix (was: Untriaged)
WAI. Daydream recently dramatically reduced the timeout for exiting VR, so you have to re-enter VR far more quickly after leaving it to skip the DON flow now.
