Regression : Default browser prompt is not seen after restarting a browser for the first time.

Issue descriptionChrome Version : 59.0.3032.0 (Official Build) f82c6edf451db714b211a7c92b9c1ca3547ab0ec-refs/heads/master@{#454806} 32/64 bit OS : Windows 10 Preconditions : 1. Please set 'Firefox' as a default browser. 2. Freshly install chrome. What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Launch chrome and open NTP. 2. Type chrome://restart in omnibox and hit ENTER key (chrome restarts) 3. Observe. Actual : "Set as default" prompt is not seen after restarting a browser for the first time. Expected : "Set as default" prompt should appear every time, after restarting the chrome. (i.e prompt should be seen until user dismiss it). This is a regression issue broken in ‘M-58’, below is the Manual Regression range and will soon update other info. Good build : 58.0.3019.0 Bad build : 58.0.3020.0 Note : 1. This is Windows 10 specific issue and it is working as intended on Win (7,8), Mac (10.11.6, 10.12.1, 10.12) and Linux (14.04) LTS OS. 2. "Set as default" prompt appears after restarting chrome browser for the second time.

This is expected behavior. We added logic to make sure the Default Browser Prompt is not shown over any welcome promo page, to make sure the user doesn't get multiple promos/prompts at once. |
