I just upgraded to Chrome Version 57.0.2987.98 and I can still reproduce this. It is very hard to reproduce so I don't think I would be able to get a reliable bisect window. As I said in the original report it only is reproducible in incognito mode.

I forgot to add I reproduced in a clean profile, and also that my Google Chrome uses --force-device-scale-factor=1. In the last fifteen minutes I've been unable to reproduce without --force-device-scale-factor=1.

Well it only took an hour but I bisected it:

You are probably looking for a change made after 403174 (known good), but no later than 403181 (first known bad).

Reviewing the commits I only see two possibilities:

-myself. I exclude ef9be03 can have any visible effect. That code is not in use yet.
