Command-W doesn't close a tab while it's showing a tab-modal dialog

The site keeps popping up the basic http auth dialog over its social engineering site, while playing audio.

I can't close the page with CMD-W without carefully timing clicking CANCEL on the dialog and then immediately hitting CMD-W. I _can_ close it by hitting the browser window's [X].

avi -- would it be reasonable to make http-auth dialogs tab-modal?

Summary: Command-W doesn't close a tab while it's showing a tab-modal dialog (was: Basic-auth dialog blocks page from closing on malicious sites)
HTTP Auth _is_ tab-modal; the fact that you can switch tabs while it's up and close the time while it's up using (X) shows that it is.

The problem is that Command-W isn't working to close a tab while it has a tab-modal dialog up.
