manually adding local printer cause browser to crash

Reported by k...@duvekot.net, Mar 3 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9000.91.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.110 Safari/537.36
Platform: Platform	9000.91.0 (Official Build) stable-channel peppy

component:Internals>Printing>CUPS

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. enable native CUPS in chrome://flags
Native CUPS Chrome OS
Enables the use of the native CUPS printing backend. #enable-native-cups

2. go to manage local printers in the advanced settings screen.
this will open up the following tab:
chrome://md-settings/cupsPrinters

3. click on add printer

4. fill in the form:
printer name: HPLJ41TN
address: 192.168.1.2 (printer is assigned a static IP via DHCP)
protocol: Line PRinter Deamon (LPD)
queue: raw

This is a HP Lasterjet 4100 TN with a Jetdirect network card inserted. I can print on this printer directly from windows. It is also connected as a printer to my Synology NAS using the same settings (there they call it the LPR protocol)

4. click on ADD button

5. browser briefly shows an other page (can not read/describe it, disappears to quickly), then the whole browser crashes with a "chrome did not correctly shutdown" message and the restore button.

What is the expected behavior?
not a crashed browser, but an local printer that I can print on directly

What went wrong?
browser crashed, so I can not add a local printer

Crashed report ID:

How much crashed? Just one tab

Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.110 Channel: stable
OS Version: 9000.91.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

This bug is quite old. AFAIK any non-empty address in the settings page should allow you to add a printer in M61. Can we confirm if this is still an issue?

Not able to reproduce this issue.

I just also did a recheck .. and I can also not reproduce it any more (and I have a new IPP capable printer now, so no LPD printer around to test)

I am on Version 61.0.3163.123 (Official Build) (64-bit)
