To set Canary as Default browser on windows 10 please follow as below steps 1. Go to "Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Programs" 2. On L.H.S click on "Google Chrome Canary" and on R.H.S click on " Set this program as default " and then on "OK" button. 3. To check as canary is as default browser go to " Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations" and for .htm and .html files default program will be chrome canary. karinamikhli@ Please perform above steps and let us know your observations. Thank You...

@Sureshkumari, that is the workaround I figured out and it worked. But I at first expected to be able to set it in Chrome settings as I had before. Thanks.

I'm not sure what the bug/feature request here is. We don't provide a way to set Canary as a default browser in the UI, by design (this will not be changing), but it will always be possible to manually do this either by setting it via the "Default Programs" UI in Windows, or manual registry editing. What exactly is being asked for here?

I wasn't notified that this was by design and asked to submit a request here. Thanks.

Like it says in comment 6, not being able to set Canary as default from the browser is by design. However, I was able to set Canary as default from the Default Programs settings just fine (M60). So I'm closing this. |
