Phones support "Close all tabs" from the tab switcher, tablets support it by long pressing on the X button. The problem with Close Other Tabs on phones is that the tab switcher doesn't really do a good job visually of letting you know what the current tab is. This option would make more sense on Tablets, but would take some explorations around supporting this on phones (maybe we could add long press on the X button in the tab switcher on phones). Adding some product and UX folks to weigh in whether this is something we should support.

+cleer as FYI Going to mark this as WontFix for now. Closing all but the current tab hasn't come up as a very common case on mobile. (You might be a rare one jidanni!) However, it's an interesting concept to consider as a part of a broader re-evaluation of how tabs are managed. We're trying to keep things light for users so that possibly you don't ever feel like you need to close all the other tabs. Thanks for the suggestion! |
