Upon folding chromebook device, the screen won't rotate in tent or tablet mode and even it does not display an on screen keyboard when we set focus within input field.

Reported by vijay.ka...@pearson.com, Feb 28 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36
Platform: 9202.37.0 (Official Build) beta-channel clapper

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Upgrade Chrome OS to 57 or 58 channel.
2. open chrome browser and then fold the device into tablet mode
3. And then focus into a input field like user id

What is the expected behavior?
 - screen should rotate in tent or tablet mode
 - Onscreen keyboard should display when focused into a edit field

What went wrong?
screen will not rotate in tent or tablet mode and the onscreen keyboard did not display when the focus was in the input field.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 57.0.2987.75 beta & 58.0.3007.0 dev Channel: beta
OS Version: CrOS x86_64 9202.37.0

Sounds like it's failing to transition into touchview mode. This is usually the result of failure to read the accelerometers.

Is this only affecting a single machine or multiples?
Note: In stable(56) channel, this issue is not seen.
Hi - We have seen this issue with model: Chromebook touch Lenovo N20p. With the model C100P(which can be fold fully) works fine.

Greg, could you look into this?
Greg, do you know if the N20P supposed to have touchview mode? It looks like the device doesn't fold all the way around, but I guess it would still be useful?

According to these two reviews, it should support auto-rotate (https://youtu.be/e_AIcwGJkuQ?t=755), and the on-screen keyboard makes it look like tablet mode (https://youtu.be/PSzaRWuasC0?t=200), although I don't yet have a lot of first-hand experience with that yet.

My clapper on M-58 is exhibiting the bug (no auto-rotate or auto-onscreen keyboard when folded back, physical keyboard still active).
Also: just recovered to M-56, where (as reported above) auto-rotate and onscreen keyboard appear as expected.
Any updates on this?
Hi there, we submitted a few fixes but are unsure if this fixed the problem.
Can you reproduce reliably?

Is this still reproducible?
We cannot reproduce this anymore. Seems to be fixed now. Thanks!
