Issue descriptionDevice name: From "Settings > About Chrome" Application version: Operating system: URLs (if applicable): Steps to reproduce: (1)turn on Wi-Fi (2)go to cast under display settings and activate screen mirroring (3)play a video on a website within chrome and it is choppy and not working. Constantly keep showing a second of loading Circle indicator and a second of video playback that's never ending and the only way I can get the videos to work is to disable screen mirroring with my 2015 Sony Android TV that's on the current OS version update that came through here recently. Phone has been broken with this since the update to Android nougat. My device isn't axon 7 from ZTE. The proprietary browser the ZTE has on this phone works just fine. Other browsers do not work such as Firefox dolphin Opera and so on. Sucks because I love screen mirroring to my TV to watch movies all the time and it's currently still broken and I've been complaining about this for almost a month now through the help and feedback tab of Chrome and Chrome Beta and you guys have done nothing. Expected result: Actual result:

Based on the fact that this is using screen mirroring and that it occurs in other browsers, this doesn't appear to be an issue with Chrome, so not something we can resolve here. Suggest you file feedback in the Google Home app when you encounter this problem, as that will be able to pull in system logs that may help in understanding the cause of this problem.

That's ridiculous because it works perfectly and the proprietary browser for this phone. It's the Chrome based or architectural base of chrome through other browsers that this is affecting and it's not home app because it's not operating off of Chromecast which is network-based. Remember I said Wi-Fi Direct or Miracast

If you're using Android Screen Mirroring then Chrome is not directly responsible for the behavior you're seeing (especially if it also shows up in other browsers like Firefox, as you mentioned). It's quite likely an Android system/platform issue in that case. Given that it's WiFi Direct I would file an Android bug: https://source.android.com/source/report-bugs.html.

Not sure about how to do what you are speaking on. Could you reply with how to do that so I can help in resolving this annoyance. Thanks! It sucks because I've been trying for over a month now to get some attention to the fact that the axon 7 updated to 7.0 and hasn't had imbeded video playback functioning properly since. It works in the browser that came with the phone just fine though... |
