In https://bugs.chromium.org/p/libyuv/issues/detail?id=688 it was reported that a gclient sync in Chromium actually tries to process the pre_deps_hooks entries of src/third_party/libyuv/DEPS [1]. 

This must be a bug, since gclient should only do recursive DEPS processing of the currently configured entries in the Chromium DEPS file [2].

It doesn't become a fatal error, so the gclient sync still passes, but the problem is there on my local Chromium checkout. It doesn't seem to show up in the bot logs though.
