Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Place the attached "problem.html" and "social.svg" in the same folder. 2. Open "problem.html" in chrome web browser. 3. Hover mouse over either icon. What is the expected behavior? When you hover over an icon, it should increase in size. What went wrong? The size increases, but the svg icon is blurry. It is a vector graphic so it should be clear at any resolution. Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? No, same result on: Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18537

Able to reproduce the issue on windows 7 using chrome version 56.0.2924.87 and canary 58.0.3024.0. This is non regression issue as the issue observed for M40 old builds also. Marking it as Untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks,

This is occurring because the CSS transform is done via the compositor, while the SVGImage is painted into a canvas in the SVG-defined resolution. I suppose we could fix this by applying the CSS transform in software for this particular use case.

I can't reproduce this issue on 58.0.3026.3 / mac. Also, there are no composited layers when I tried it. schenney, can you reproduce still?

I can't repro in Version 59.0.3033.1 canary SyzyASan or Version 57.0.2987.88 beta (64-bit) in Win 10. fmalita@ also just landed something that fixes SVG blurriness under some circumstances. |
