Please change the status of issue 7789 to WillFix - Separators on Bookmarks Menus

Reported by hperaz...@gmail.com, Feb 23 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected behavior?
Issue 694466 , as well as the duplicate 7789, should be reconsidered and status changed to WillFix.

What went wrong?
Issue 694466 was entered recently, but was merged with 7789 which has a status of WontFix and dates from 2010. The original excuse of sky@chromium.org for not implementing the requested feature is based on false assumptions, and the large amount of follow-ups from users prove his point is wrong.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

If sky@chromium.org does not have the time/knowledge/will to implement the requested feature, please assign this issue to somebody else. Keeping users waiting 7 years for this is not a joke, is disrespectful.

The decision not to implement separators was made by the designers, not me. Yes, I updated the bug, but it wasn't my decision.

I understand you (and others) are passionate about separators, but a conscious decision was made to keep the UI minimal. I will raise the issue again with the designers. Should it change I'll reopen 7789.
Thank you for your attention.

The fact that we users are passionate about a certain feature should be taken as a hint by the developers to improve and/or guide the design of their product. Failure to observe that simple rule is what cause customers to ditch a product and never look back.

Personally, I don't see how such a minor addition as a bookmark separator line would complicate the UI design, especially when there are already separator lines (vertical and horizontal, speak about complicating the UI!) in the chrome's menu, including the very same bookmarks sub-menu, but not for user bookmarks! Makes the original argument sound like a lazy excuse.

From the programming point of view, that's the kind of modification that takes a day at most including testing (and if you're really good you can implement it in less than an hour.)

We do really hope that this time the suggestion will not go into /dev/null.

Thanks.

Suggestions never go to /dev/null, but you have to remember not all suggestions are implemented.
Same thing!
