GpuProcessHostUIShim: The GPU process exited normally. Everything is okay.

This issue is observed with YouTube, Netflix HBOGo and Amazon.

Can you grab the contents of chrome://media-internals for the player when this issue occurs on a simple site like the following:

http://storage.googleapis.com/dalecurtis/buck2.mp4
I am unable to repro using that video as playback stops when I unplug the headphones. This is different behavior than if I repro using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqdVWLZH_lI
I see similar behavior where I unplug headphones, plug back in and video stops.
What does chrome://media-internals say about that player though?
Here is what is says for your video:

Thanks! It does look like our device changes are failing somewhere along the way. I don't have my windows machine today so will take a peek tomorrow. If you have time, can you launch chrome with logging enabled and see if any error messages are printed?

Unable to reproduce the issue on windows-10 and windows-7 using chrome version 56.0.2924.87 with the steps mentioned in comment#0.
Observed that Playback continues without interruption.
rguthrie@ could you please try in a clean profile without any extensions and let us know your observations if the issue still persists.

Thanks.

I disabled all extensions and everything looked to work correctly? Any steps to isolate which extension might be causing the issue?
I tested again and am still reproing, one of our engineers is also reproing still. We will enable logging and get the logs this evening.

Notify WASAPIAudioOutputStream users of rendering errors.

Upstream tracks error information and uses it to determine if a stream
is acceptable for reuse. Rendering failures should cause the destruction
of the stream, not allow reuse.

Will merge next week if all looks good.
rguthrie@ Can you try the latest Chrome canary with your two issues and see if they are resolved?
I tried canary and in full screen do not repro with this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqdVWLZH_lI

Great thanks! Don't see any increases in failed track metrics so will merge request.

This bug requires manual review: We are only 13 days from stable.
Please contact the milestone owner if you have questions.

Seems like change is verified in Canary and looks good per comment #18 and #19.
However, this is not an M57 regression and P2, can this wait until M58 as we're VERY close to M57 Stable promotion?
Labels: -Type-Bug Type-Bug-Regression
This is a regression; though I'm not sure when it regressed. I suspect something has changed in Windows which causes this issue to manifest now (since this code has always been this way -- and I've personally verified it in the past).
To add a bit more color; this has been on canary for a few days with no increases (or decreases) in audio errors:

https://uma.googleplex.com/p/chrome/timeline_v2/?sid=7328d2abac8c955ec0695605d5c639ed

So it feels safe to merge.

Tested this issue on Windows-10 using chrome reported version of M56 #56.0.2924.87 and latest M57 #57.0.2987.88 by following steps mentioned in the original comment, Observed no error when changing audio endpoint multiple times with Chrome while playing videos in YouTube.

Could anyone let us know is there any consistent repro steps available to verify this issue from Chrome-TE end?

Thanks!
Dunno what device you're using but with a Logitech G35 USB headset this was easily reproducible on my corp Windows 10 box; just unplug and replug multiple times on this page:

http://storage.googleapis.com/dalecurtis/mse.html?src=buck720.webm&type=webm

And eventually playback will stop.
