This is still a present issue as I am not able to manually add passwords that have been removed from google smart lock. The response I received did NOT address my concerns. tkearse0610@gmail.com

My initial response was to the reporter. I have re-answered the questions below. 1. I'm sorry this isn't working. First thing that confuses me is "safelock". Is this like some third party software? Or are we talking about Google Smart Lock? ** YES Google Smart Lock 2. Can you go to chrome://settings/passwords and check to see if accounts.google.com or anything else with google is in the 'Never saved' area? **Gmail is not in the 'never saved' area, nor is it in the saved passwords area. 3. What are you doing between being prompted for signin credentials? Are you signing out of gmail? Are you closing Chrome? Restarting computer? Closing tabs? Page refreshes? Just ordinary browsing? **While logged into Chrome as TKEARSE0610, I have browsed other webpages, exited webpages, and closed my laptop for an extended time, all of these actions require me to enter my login credentials before accessing my TKEARSE0610 gmail account. None of these actions require me to re-enter login credentials with any other site where I have saved the password on Smart Lock. I have three gmail accounts, all three are connected. I am not prompted to enter my login credentials each time when accessing the other accounts, only TKEARSE0610. Also, as I mentioned, I am NOT ABLE TO MANUALLY ADD MY GMAIL PASSWORD TO GOOGLE SMART LOCK. The text box asking to save the password does not pop up when I login to TKEARSE0610 gmail account. When this issue is addressed I will no longer be dealing with this problem. Thank you. Tiffany *Tiffany A. Kearse* *Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.* *Do your best to make an EFFECTIVE POSITIVE CHANGE*

Sabine/Vaclav - correct me if I'm wrong, but it's by design that we don't allow users to save passwords for accounts.google.com, right? This seems like a passwords issue to me (unable to save password for Gmail) rather than a sign in issue. I think the sign in being discussed here is into Gmail, not into Chrome.

Thanks very much for the clarifications in comment #13. And ewald@ in #15 wrote the correct answer: Chrome will not save the password for the particular Google account which you are also logged into Chrome. See [1] for why. Having said that, there should be no need to log into Google every time you restart your Chrome. When you log in on accounts.google.com, Chrome should store your login cookies, and unless those are wiped, they usually last some days at least. The reason why they are wiped might include: * "Keep local data only until you quit your browser" selected in chrome://settings/content * Clearing cookies manually * Some cookie-related bug in Chromium or profile data corruption The first two kinds of issues should be easy for you to rectify. The third would need more investigation. Let us know if you can rule out the first two and you still cannot keep your Google session across a couple of days at least. Until then, I'm marking this as WontFix, because the issue with not saving the password itself in Chrome is working as intended ([1]). Thank you, I was able to follow your suggestion and found that "Keep local data only until you quit your browser" was selected. I hope this will address my concern. *Tiffany A. Kearse* *Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.* *Do your best to make an EFFECTIVE POSITIVE CHANGE*
