Colors in rendered pages look incorrect, desaturated

Project Member Reported by l...@chromium.org, Feb 20 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version: 58.0.3018.0
OS: Windows 10

What is the expected result?
Examining any page with colors should look correct. I'm no longer able to use Canary for color sensitive work.

What happens instead?
All colors inside a renderer look very noticeably desaturated, reds look more orange, some pages have rectangular artifacts that were not there before. Very rarely, a black rectangle with green lines will appear. These strange effects are hard to describe, so please take a look at the screenshots. All attached side by side images show the Stable channel on left and Canary on the right.

Bisected to these commits, suspecting the 2nd one:

The attachments should also include my about://gpu contents for investigation, let me know if there is more info that would help.

Same here, first experienced 24 hours ago.
Additionally Ive changes in my Googlemail box. The emails I already looked at are now dark grey marked what is really disturbing.
Checked it with the regular Chrome version, here everything works just fine.

Windows 10, 64.

I also saw this change happen, instantly, in the early morning hours of 2/20 (around ~ 1am-2am, I believe) while I was browsing different sites. After trying various things to fix it unsuccessfully, I assumed that Canary had pushed an automatic update that caused the problem.

Using Chrome ver. 58.0.3018.0 canary (64 bit)

Attached is a screenshot from Chrome ver. 56.0.2924.87 (top) and Chrome ver. 58.0.3018.0 canary (64 bit)(bottom).

Same issue here - though if you uncheck hardware acceleration under Settings->Advanced and restart then it clears the problem.
confirming that disabling hardware acceleration does the trick
This was also reported on Reddit. I've directed users to come to here and provide more info.

Sure looks like a duplicate, even the screenshots look similar. I'll post a comment on the other side with a summary of the thread here.
