Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Launch Chromium with 4 channel soundcard activated. 2. Confirm all channels are working correctly using https://www2.iis.fraunhofer.de/AAC/multichannel.html 3. Open dev tools and enter `(new AudioContext).destination.maxChannelCount` 4. I expect to see 4, but I see 2. What is the expected behavior? I should see 4 reported as max number of channels. The soundcard has played back multiple channels using an audio element. But the Web Audio API reports only 2 channels. What went wrong? The Web Audio API is reporting the incorrect number of channels. It is only using 2 channels from my 4 channel soundcard. Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 (Developer Build) (64-bit) Channel: n/a OS Version: Arch Linux Flash Version: I have confirmed that Audio played via an Audio element plays all 4 channels. It's just the Web Audio API that can only see 2 channels.

Tested this issue on Ubuntu 14.04, Mac 10.12.2 and Win-10 using chrome reported version #56.0.2924.87 and latest canary #58.0.3018.0. Attached a screen cast for reference. Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue. ------------ 1. Navigated to URL: https://www2.iis.fraunhofer.de/AAC/multichannel.html 2. Opened dev tools and entered (new AudioContext).destination.maxChannelCount in console. 3. Web Audio API reported only 2 channels. Note: same behavior is observed in firefox also. Reporter@ - This doesn't seem to be a chrome specific issue. Could you please confirm the behavior on other browsers also. Thanks...!!

And let us know what the sound card is.

FWIW, if this still happens, it is a linux-specific issue. Windows and OSX both support the multichannel audio output correctly. Adding Media>Audio to the component.

Without additional feedback on at least the sound card, there's nothing we can test. Please help us help you.

This issue was with the Traktor Audio 2 soundcard from Native Instruments. I don't currently have the device so I'm unable to continue with testing this. Sorry, perhaps this issue should be closed?
