Issue descriptionGoogle Chrome OS Version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit) Platform: 9000.82.0 (Official Build) stable-channel edgar ARC Version 3691121 Firmware Google_Edgar.7287.167.42 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create an extension with "permissions":["webview"], "kiosk_enabled":true, and "offline_enabled":true What is the expected behavior? My extension loads a web site on my LAN. It does not need an internet connection. Chrome should run the extension (in kiosk mode) if the local network is connected but there is no connection to the internet. What went wrong? Chrome will not load the extension because there is not internet connection, even though the extension would work correctly. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 56.0.2924.87 This behavior is defined here: https://developer.chrome.com/apps/manifest/offline_enabled It says: As of Chrome 35, apps are assumed to be offline enabled and the default value of "offline_enabled" is true unless "webview" permission is requested. In this case, network connectivity is assumed to be required and "offline_enabled" defaults to false. I propose either allowing offline_enabled=true when webview is granted, or differentiate between offline, network connected, and internet connected. |
