Hey, I'm unsure if this is easier to fix from the tab switcher or the new tab page side of things.

This isn't NTP specific but rather happens for all native pages (I can reproduce on recent tabs as well). I'm not sure how feasible it is to regenerate thumbnails for all native pages on device rotation.

I agree with the P3 prioritization.

For any thumbnail that isn't live, this is the case (native or not). The main issue to me is that the active native tab isn't updating its thumbnail. I think that is probably a solution worth looking into (if the live tab is native, update thumbnail on size change).
