Regression:Long press on key is not smooth in elements section of devtools

Chrome Version: 58.0.3014.0 dev
OS: Ubuntu 14.04,windows

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Launch chrome and go to chrome:md-settings.
(2)Hit F12 to open devtools >> In styles section click on (+)insert style below icon
(3)long press the key and observe

Expected: long press key is not smooth while entering the name of the styles .
Actual: Instead long press key is not smooth while entering the name of the styles.

This is a regression issue broken in M-57.

Able to reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 14.04 using 58.0.3014.0.
Adding ReleaseBlock-Stable, feel free to modify if its not appropriate.

Note: Issue is not seen on Mac 10.12.3.

You are probably looking for a change made after 444928 (known good), but no later than 444929 (first known bad).

Able to reproduce the issue on Windows 10 with chrome canary #58.0.3020.0
Since it has a release block label, einbinder@ could you please update the latest info on this issue.
