Provide users with a size warning prior to download |
|||
Issue descriptionWe should experiment with a UI that provides users with the size of the download prior to downloading. In the initial stages, we should limit this to data saver users. The specific metrics we would like to capture are: -For a given download size, what percentage of users choose to continue vs. cancel the download. -For a given download type, what percentage of users choose to continue vs. cancel the download. -Total number of successful downloads -Total number of failed downloads -Total number of abandoned downloads Additionally, we will capture qualitative feedback through Play Store and Pulse. Implementation is contingent upon creating the new UI, which we will try to do in Q2.

We would prefer to run an early experiment showing file size in the notificaiton if possible, ahead of investing UX resources in Q2 to make this happen. :) Would this be technically feasible?

Yes for some downloads we know the file size, but not for all. We can show the UI when we know it.

Good to know. :) Do we have any metrics on how often we know vs. don't know the size?
