Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Select 2nd option value in drop down box 2. Highlight the dropdown box 3. Press Ctrl-C to copy the value 4. Press Ctrl-V to paste the value in any other editor What is the expected behavior? It should paste the 2nd option value What went wrong? It always pastes the 1st option value Did this work before? No Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 The behavior is worked in IE and Firefox

Same problem faced here and here are my steps to reproduce the issue. Issue: Display default option after copy and paste the content via Chrome. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Select 2nd option value in drop down box 2. Highlight the content including the drop box 3. Press Ctrl-C to copy the value 4. Press Ctrl-V to paste the value in any other editor (e.g. gmail) What is the expected behavior? Should display the 2nd option value after paste the content in the editor What went wrong? Display the default value in the editor after paste in it. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 Remark* 1. Tried same steps and behavior and it's work in other browsers (e.g. IE, edge and FF) 2. Tested in chrome # 56.0.2924.87 and Canary #58.0.3018.0 on win 10.0 and not able to reproduce the issue unable to copy the drop down text and checked in IE also same behaviour observed.Please find the screen shots for your reference. @ michaelswk: Could you please let me know if i have missed anything.Please provide the inputs which would help us to triage the issue further. Please find the video attached 1. I selected "Annual Travel Insurance" 2. I paste the content to gmail editor, the drop down selection become "Please Select", not keep display "Annual Travel Insurance".

Oh, with the video in #7 the bug is easy to reproduce. The bug is also present in DOM Selection API both in Chrome and Firefox, works in IE, here's a test case: https://jsfiddle.net/cks1pafk/3/ Interestingly, DOM Range API correctly serializes <select> node contents.

Tested the issue on chrome Stable #56.0.2924.87, Canary #58.0.3026.0 in Windows 10.0 & 7 and was able to reproduce the issue. This is a Non-Regression issue since seeing this from M30 #30.0.1549.0, Making the status to Untriaged so that the issue would get addressed. Note : Able to reproduce the issue in MAC 10.12 and Linux Ubuntu 14.04. Thank you.
