In chrome://settings, cannot edit name in People panel

Issue description

Chrome Version       : 56.0.2924.87
OS Version: OS X 10.12.2
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
  Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari 5:
  Firefox 4.x:
     IE 7/8/9:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have multiple People (profiles)
2. Go to chrome://settings, click on Edit under the People panel.
3. Change the name, hit Save.

What is the expected result?

The name is updated.

What happens instead of that?

Absolutely nothing, not even an error message. The name is unchanged.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Mihai: I recall this happening in the past (on Macs I believe), but we were never able to repro consistently.  This bug may be a dupe: you might have a very similar bug assigned to you already when bugs were bulk assigned to you.

r@, just to confirm: are the profiles whose names you're trying to change signed into Chrome and syncing?

Yes, they are signed in and syncing.
