Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Use browser for several hours, > 10 tabs open 2. Try to switch to previously open tab What is the expected behavior? Tab displays correct web page contents What went wrong? Tab actually contains the rendered output from a different (also open) tab, or else black and white blocks. Once this problem manifests, it's generally impossible to load or interact with any pages and the "wrong tab contents" symptom usually degrades to full on "black and white blocks". See attached screenshot of "black and white blocks" condition and GPU report. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.11.6 Flash Version:

This is an old MacBook Pro with an AMD GPU. We run automated tests on a more recent MacBook Pro Retina with AMD GPU and everything is working fine there. There must be some problem with the old card or driver. If you run Chrome from the command line in the following manner does it clear up the problem? /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --user-data-dir=/tmp/t1 --use-gl=desktop If so then this means that we need to blacklist the use of the Core Profile on these older AMD GPUs per Issue 676975 .

Adding as the issue specific to old MacBook Pro with an AMD GPU MTV@ Could any one from mtv team please look into this issue if you have specific setup there. Thanks,

It turns out our group does have a machine of this vintage. I'll triage this.

Given that this is an HD3000 w/ AMD switchable, I'm guessing this may be a dupe (or closely related to) bug 661596 . If so, this should be fixed in the latest Beta and Canary builds. parkan@, are you able to confirm whether this issue is still present in the latest beta build, 57.0.2987.74.

Will test against beta channel

I can't reproduce this behavior. The Intel HD 3000 that's in our group's old dual-GPU MacBook Pro causes all GPU features to be blacklisted. Here's about:gpu.
Eric, could you please take over this bug and duplicate as necessary?
