Video has red tint in windows canary

Project Member Reported by cbentzel@chromium.org, Feb 14 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version: 58.0.3011.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
OS: Win10

Video started having red tint and other color issues in canary. This seems like a recent regression. I noticed it both with videos on Twitter as well as using Hangouts. Using Chrome stable on the same windows machine does not have the issues. See attached photo showing the issue.

Seeing this issue as well. Version 58.0.3012.0 canary (64-bit). turning off html5 player on twitch.tv resolves the issue. anything using html5 for vid/gif seems to be having this issue.

Comment 5 by wfh@chromium.org, Feb 14 2017

I tried to bisect but this issue does not occur on chromium builds, only on official builds.

Comment 6 by wfh@chromium.org, Feb 14 2017

Even with binaries taken directly from an official build I can't repro.

It seems to be some kind of dynamic configuration causing this, as it only repros when the build thinks it's on Canary channel and variations have fully loaded.

Comment 9 by wfh@chromium.org, Feb 15 2017

I tried manually converting all my variations into field trial names and appending them all onto --force-fieldtrials and was still unable to reproduce the bug running the same binaries as the Canary which exhibits the bug - so my conclusion was it was something dependent on channel - that enables/disables/changes whatever feature this is for a particular channel.
Issue 692791 has been merged into this issue.

Comment 12 by wfh@chromium.org, Feb 15 2017

once the cause of this is discovered I'd be curious what the correct procedures for bisecting bugs of this type should be, given I was unable to reproduce the issue on any other instance of Chrome other than a full canary install (e.g. was not able to repro on chromium, or on a copied-to-another-dir Chrome "canary").
