zork@ can someone on your team take a look?
Also reported in https://code.google.com/p/chrome-os-partner/issues/detail?id=62704. I've closed the partner issue and redirect here.

Strongly suspect something triggered by either an extension or an experiment as .87 has been in verification for quite a while now and this issue just popped up today.

Has anyone seen this recently? I'm tempted to mark it as obsolete, but given the slightly involved repro steps & memory pressure, I'm not sure. Thoughts?
