The browser process consumed ~9 GB of memory

Project Member Reported by st...@chromium.org, Feb 12 2017

Issue description

I left my browser open without any manual activity for ~22 days (monitor screen was locked). When I logged in my workstation and try to use the browser, it became too slow in response.

The browser process was found to consume ~9 GB of memory.
See attached screenshot.

I will still leave it running in case someone wanted to debug at my workstation.

What version of Chrome is this?

The version was 55.0.2883.87
The memory leak is likely the same as in the bug 678768 .

However, I couldn't confirm further because the Chrome browser was gone after I managed to login my workstation.
