Cannot delete individual autocomplete entries via SHIFT+DELETE anymore

Reported by ale...@gmail.com, Feb 10 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Used to be you could shift-delete or fn-shift-delete (Mac) to delete an individual auto-complete entry. This was a very handy feature. I don't suspect this was removed willingly (I hope) but may have been a regression.

What is the expected behavior?
Should be able to delete individual autocomplete form entries.

What went wrong?
Could be that this happened during the backspace vs ALT-LEFT fiasco, just a wild-guess. Hope it can be brought back, there are plenty of Q&As across the web regarding the same so the feature was clearly used and being missed.

Did this work before? Yes

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.6
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Could you please confirm this issue is observed under chrome://settings/autofill or specific to any webpages? Tested on Mac OS 10.12 using chrome latest stable 56.0.2924.87 and able to delete the autofill entries from chrome://settings but not on webpage entries. This issue is observed on 35.0.1849.0 as well. So please let us know the clear repro steps to test this issue from Chrome-Te end.

Thanks!

This pertains to all forms across all web pages. Steps to reproduce.

1. Load a basic form, fill out a field with "FooBar" and submit
2. Go back to the form and press down-arrow. Then down-arrow again to highlight "FooBar" previously filled auto-complete field.
3. Press FN+SHIFT+DELETE on MAC (SHIFT-DELETE on WIN)

Expected Behaviour:

The autocomplete value "FooBar" should be removed. Subsequent form loads should not show this value.

Current Behaviour:

Nothing happens. The field does not get deleted.

Extended Behaviour:

The same applies to the URL address bar auto-complete as well. Used to be you could FN+SHIFT+DELETE individual auto-complete URLs (URLs you previously visited). You can't do this any more in the latest versions of Chrome.

Tested this issue on Mac OS 10.12 using chrome latest stable M56-56.0.2924.87 by following steps mentioned below.

1. Navigated to chrome://settings/autofill
2. Added few sample addresses to display in the form
3. Navigated to amazon.in and proceeded to checkout
4. Under shipping address form clicked on the first field
5. All the saved addresses is displayed to select
6. Navigated to each address and pressed FN+SHIFT+DELETE
7. Observed the autocomplete entries are able to delete as expected

aleemb@ Could you please confirm the above steps is the right way to reproduce this issue? If not please correct me. Attaching screen-cast for reference.

Thanks!

It turns out this is being caused by Karabiner software which has a "forward delete key" setting. Apologies for the false report.
