Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Example URL: http://www.androidbenchmark.net/popular_chart.html Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Ctrl+S to save the HTML document 2. Ctrl+W to close the tab, while document is still downloading 3. Tab closes + the download is canceled What is the expected behavior? I would expect that closing a tab should have nothing to do with a download, as downloads SHOULD be handled separately from tabs What went wrong? Download management needs to be tweaked so that it is handled separately from tabs. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.3 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Thanks for the bug. Ultimately, the page has to be loaded somewhere in order to download it. We could do that in the background once you close the page, but that requires a fairly large investment. We haven't received any other complaints about this issue, so the investment is larger than the return at this point. I am going to close the bug as won't fix. |
