“I still prefer the bookmarks approach on Firefox. I want to be able to use first letter navigation and not have to do Alt F, then B, then arrow down. In Firefox, it’s one less step than this and you can use first letter navigation.”
What steps will reproduce the problem?(1) Using above combo
(2) ALT+SHIFT+B for bookmarks-bar
(3) first-letter nav to bookmark
What is the expected result?
A to jump to all bookmarks that start with A (B to to jump to bookmarks starting with B, etc.)
What happens instead?
Only left/right arrow key navigation is supported

re accessing bookmarks via first letter (or first letters) navigation.
Could we make Alt+B open the Bookmarks submenu in the Chrome menu, similar to pressing Alt+F, B?
I think this would be an easier solution to implement.
It would also be more predictable. It would be a normal menu not a toolbar with sub-menus and such.

ALT+B isn't suppored currently, so must use ALT+F, B.
