Changing settings leaves "dots" menu highlighted |
|||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 58.0.3000.4 OS: MacOS What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go to Chrome://settings (2) Scroll down to advanced, click it, then look for "Languages". (3) Click the dots next to a language and select "move up" or "move down". What is the expected result? After moving a value up or down, there highlight around the dots menu should fade away. What happens instead? A grey highlight circle persists around the last item. Please use labels and text to provide additional information. This also occurs for other settings pages such as the "manage search engines" list.

pdr@: the ripple is how focus is represented. we definitely want to return focus to the ... menu after its associated action menu closes. it's not clear to me whether the ripple should return. for keyboard/assistive technology users, having a persistent focus indicator is helpful. for mouse/touch users, it's not so helpful. native <a href> does not show a focus outline on mouse (nor probably tap), but does when navigated to by keyboard. <button> does show an outline on press by default, though.

@dbeam: Already landed logic that hides the ripple for mouse users. But there is a known issue with paper-icon-button ignoring "noink" property. @hcarmona: This seems related to the paper-icon-button -> paper-icon-button-light transition. |
