very broken rendering on CNET site |
||||||
Issue descriptionhttps://www.cnet.com/pictures/the-24-deadliest-animals-on-earth-ranked/?query=24+animals The rendering is obviously broken, and looks different with every reload. This is on a chromebook. I haven't tried other Chromes. Google Chrome 56.0.2924.79 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) Revision 0 Platform 9000.76.0 (Official Build) beta-channel link Normally I would blame the site, but CNET should know what they are doing. Not exactly sure how to route. Stefan can you help? Thanks!

I'm not seeing the darkened background but I do see that the height of the image viewer seems to be very off. This looks like a high dpi layout bug (+eae) that may have to do with calculated styles. The .image-gallery element has a calculated height which is later overridden by an inline height (I'm assuming based on the calculated height). When calculated it doesn't seem to be correct - if you for example remove the inline height and change the calculated height to just calc(100vh) it is smaller than the viewport. On low DPI the site looks to render correctly as best as I can tell.

This happens even when you zoom in at 1.0dsf, so it's not really specific to high dpi.
