Installation not enabled

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lastpass-free-password-ma/hdokiejnpimakedhajhdlcegeplioahd?hl=en-US
2. click "add to Chrome".

3.FAIL 

What is the expected behavior?
To install the extension.

What went wrong?
An error has occurred
Installation is not enabled.
RELOAD
CLOSE

Tested on ubuntu 14.04 using chrome stable M56 #56.0.2924.87 and reported chrome version M55 #55.0.2883.75 and issue is not reproduced.

Attached screencast for reference.

@paramedic233-- Could you please try a system restart and check in the latest chrome stable version and also try with fresh chrome profile without any extensions and write us with your observations.

I also confirmed this issue. Installation for any extenston is not enabled.
Try to purge, and then to install once again, did not help. 
OS: Linux 4.9.0-kali1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.6-3kali2 (2017-01-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Chromium Version 55.0.2883.75 built on Debian 9.0, running on Debian Kali Linux Rolling (64-bit)

Restarted, disconnected my google account, restarted.
Signed back in, re-imported my bookmarks, still unable to install extensions.
V 55.0.2883.75-6 is the latest version I can install through my sources.

I noticed this issue the other day after my laptop had updated to the latest Kali build, and Chromium also updated, so I have no idea if the issue was incurred after the Kali update, or is strictly limited to the Chromium update.
