Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. chrome://plugins is gone and all plugins are enabled as per Issue 615738 . 2. Please allow me to disable Adobe Flash Player and Native Client again. 3. Why can't you just allow user to disable plugins if they want? Why are you forcing plugins onto users? What is the expected behavior? I do not want Flash Player enabled on my system. I also do not want Native Client. They weaken security and stability, also I do not want to support the continued use of flash Player on the web, and if something requires Flash I choose not to view it. Flash is a proprietary component that brings many negatives to its use: reduced security and stability being big ones. Native Client is not used by me and there is no reason for it to be running on my system. Flash has traditionally been something that users have always had control over. It is wrong of Google to force users to have these running on their system. The current setting in Settings: "Block sites from running Flash" does not disable Flash. There needs to be some way to disable it or better yet allow the user to uninstall it. What went wrong? I'm begging you to bring back a way to disable Adobe Flash Player and Native Client. In fact, please allow users to continue to disable unwanted plugins. Did this work before? Yes chrome 55 Chrome version: 56.0.2924.87 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 Frankly, it is a bad move to disable chrome://plugins. But if you must, then plugins should be listed somewhere else along with the ability to disable them.

For disabling Flash, you can use Content Settings, and set it to Block: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142064?hl=en You can also prevent Flash from being advertised to websites via: chrome://flags/#prefer-html-over-flash

@tommycli: I mentioned in my original post that my Content Settings are set to "Block sites from running Flash". I just confirmed this setting. Yet when I go to a site that requires Flash, Flash is not disabled. I am presented with a dialogue that says right-click to run Flash. If Flash is disabled, there should be no dialogue to run it. It should be disabled (turned off), inaccessible. So it is not accurate to say "For disabling Flash, you can use Content Settings." Also, I would like to disable Native Client. And what about disabling the Chrome PDF Viewer? Guys, people should be able to disable Plugins. If you want to remove chrome://plugins then okay. But there should be some other way to disable any and all plugins in the browser. And like I said, the current implementation of "Content Settings" does not count as "Disabled." I feel very strongly about this. Security and stability are more important to me than running propriety (special content) software that someone else is so paranoid about keeping secret that they add all this DRM and restrictions etc keeping 3rd party devs from being able to hack on and improve. If the DRM content is that secretive, it shouldn't be put on the web. If the only way to view it is with restrictive software, I find it easier to just NOT view it on my computer. If I want to view it, I will use a special purpose device (e.g., DVD Player) for viewing it. This way my computer security and stability are not affected. And I remain committed to my philosophical beliefs regarding an open internet. So running these plugins is of no interest to me. They provide no use-value to me as I will not view their content. I posted this bug in the hope that the Devs will rethink the current implementation of chrome://plugins removal with consideration for my argument. Thanks.

+1 Have been having major flash issues (Windows 10 not helping by installing failed updates, then rolling back, with Chrome being updated in between, so you end up with new Chrome exe, old Chrome reg entries (I'm guessing), and Chrome no longer launches.) Former solution was to resolve in :plugins, but now no longer possible. Fail to see end user benefit. Overtop install, bump to Beta, New Profile, all fail to resolve. Problems started in v56. Using Edge is current alternative - not a great one. Current ver 57.0.2987.88 beta (64-bit) ALSO - please add more informative re-route from chrome://plugins given the sheer number of solutions which direct you here. Considering you're driven to this, usually with things not working, an extra and unexpected error, not helpful in diagnosing.

I agree. People should be able to disable plugins if they want. I strongly agree with Comment 7 about needing a more informative re-route for chrome://plugins if you are going to keep it disabled. Here is a Google support page telling you to go there: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6258784?hl=en&visit_id=1-636246729481699253-1835593419&rd=2

When I access a website using Chrome (Version 57.0.2987.98 (64-bit)) on my Mac, I experience a flicker. So I want to disable the plugin to identify the culprit. However, I can't as chrome://plugins/ is gone. What do I do? BTW, I don't experience this in Safari.

+1 on all the comments that say that there should be a way to access plugins. guys, I have a serious problem that I'm not able to troubleshoot. my browser window keeps on flickering on some site. it flickers even on FB site when I display an overlay window. I suspect that it could be one of the plugins. however, I can't troubleshoot as I can access used plugins.

I fully agree with the comments here. I disable DRM plugins because I want to lower the attack surface. I don't want widevine. I don't want flash. Code which is not open source by the way. Why Google is now forcing them to be loaded is baffling. You should bring back chrome://plugins so we have a way to stop them from being loaded.
